Our story

Why Maine needed a chapter of its own.

Avid hunters Stacey and Ben Taylor, together with Hunter Jellison and Lucinda Largey, founded the Pine Tree Chapter in March 2026. New England already has a thriving SCI chapter, but Maine sportsmen and women needed a chapter dedicated to their own issues and concerns.

The Pine Tree Chapter's mission is to create a sense of community with hunters throughout the state, advocate for hunters' rights in Augusta, and provide fun and educational opportunities for youth to preserve hunting tradition in Maine.

Our chapter is closely aligned with Moose Maine Kids, an organization that provides hunting and fishing opportunities for children who might not otherwise have access to them.
